"Remain in Me" - fine art print
"Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15: 14-15
~
John 5:19 beautifully encapsulates the relationship between Jesus and the Father, revealing the divine harmony and unity that flows through their connection. In this verse, Jesus says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise."
Picture a scene where the Son, Jesus, stands as a majestic and obedient figure, always in perfect synchrony with the Father's will. Like a masterful dancer, He moves only in response to the Father's lead. Their connection is an intricate dance of love, wisdom, and purpose, where every step is guided by the Father's divine choreography. It is a dance of perfect trust and intimacy, where the Son finds His greatest joy in mirroring the Father's actions, emulating His love, and manifesting His wisdom.
As we abide in the vine, we become like the Son, mirroring His qualities and attributes. Just as Jesus does the works of the Father, so do we produce the fruit of the Spirit when we remain connected to Christ. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control flourish within us as we draw from the divine source.
