"Who Touched Me"

Who touched Me painting, woman with the issue of blood artwork, Mindi Oaten Art, Jesus art, Miraculous touch

“Who touched me?” Jesus asked.  When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”  Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed."  Luke 8:45-47

In a bustling crowd near the shores of Galilee, an account of enduring faith unfolded. Among the throng was a woman who had suffered an ailment for twelve long years, a debilitating issue of blood. Her condition not only weakened her physically but also isolated her socially and spiritually, as she was considered ceremonially unclean. The scriptures reveal her plight, “And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse” (Mark 5:25-26).

Despite her suffering and the countless treatments she had tried, this woman's faith remained undeterred. Having heard of Jesus and His miraculous works, she believed that just one touch of His garment would be sufficient to heal her. Such was her conviction that amidst the jostling crowd, she reached out, her fingers brushing the hem of Jesus’ robe. That very instant, her affliction ceased. As Mark 5:29 states, “Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.”

This poignant encounter speaks volumes about the boundless compassion of Jesus and the transformative power of unwavering faith. The woman's touch symbolized the deep yearning of a desperate soul, and Jesus' response epitomized divine love and mercy. One touch, fueled by faith, brought about a miracle that changed her life forever.
