"Seek His Face" - Collectors Club, April 2022
“Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.” Psalm 27:7-8

“Have you ever painted Jesus’ face?” a text message I received from a friend.
“No, not in my recent work. I’ve been purposefully not painting his face, just his hands and feet.” I replied.
“Will you paint his face for a series I’m doing in April?”
Long pause, asking Holy Spirit… “Yes, I can do that for you.” It’s time.
This painting came out of a commission request, but a very timely painting for me to experience working on. It was time to paint Jesus’ face. It feels like a new marker in my art journey. Not only was this a commission painting, but I felt it was Jesus asking me to “paint his face” again. A new time, a deeper seeking.
Originally painted in acrylic on canvas.
